I have tons of exciting art news for you this summer!
I have been awarded a research fellowship with the Nevada Museum of Art to continue my work with the collective, the Great Basin Native Artists. I will be creating an archive for Indigenous artists in and around the Great Basin areas where digital and hardcopies will be stored permanently at the Center for Art + Environment Research Library at the Nevada Museum of Art.
Also, this year, I was awarded a Nevada Humanities Rising Star Award for my work on the Great Basin Native Artists Archive Project.
In other exciting news, I was a part of the design consultants to create the Stewart Indian School Cultural Center and Museum. This was an amazing experience because my mother and most of my extended family attended this Indian boarding school and I was raised with the many memories of this school system which lasted almost 100 years and fully intended to assimilate the Indigenous population of this continent. I am proud to be a part of this project to educate the public and our nation about the “boarding school tragedy” with hopes that we can bring people together in education and healing.
With all of these projects as well as many exhibitions I participated in this year; I sadly cannot do Indian market this year. I wanted to let you know that I do have a lot of work on hand and would be more than happy to send you an inventory list if requested. I am motivated to sell these works, so I can continue doing the projects I am working on for the next year.
